That's right I would get fired! I apologize for not blogging for so long.
This year has been a year of ups and downs.
Down. We are in a drought! That's right NW Florida is suffering a drought.
Whoda thunk it? We have not had rain for almost 3 months. I usually cut and bale hay 3 times during the year but this year only twice, the grass just quit growing. The hay I did get put up is top quality, so the cows will have great hay, as long as it lasts.

We sold all of our heifers, two bulls, Warrior and Osceola as herd sires, and a load of steers. Oh yes remember Uno the bull, posted May 2012, well the new owner sent me a picture. Here he is. Wow!

I moved the herd into the hayfield Saturday, they were happy but the grass just wasn't the lush green as it had been in the past, dang drought.
Another excellent up, was my daughter Ami getting married. She got hitched to a cowboy, my new son Jonas and had a beautiful farm wedding. Yes, that is me dancing with her at the wedding.
Up. Earlier this spring we took a family trip up to Atlanta and Virginia to visit family. It was great! I am so blessed to have such an awesome family. The kids had a blast. They are growing up so fast.
Oh ya, I can't forget the trip my wife and I took to Maui HI. I ended up having emergency surgery. Cholecystectomy. (gall bladder out)
I mean who goes to Maui to have their gall bladder removed? Boy do I know how to have fun on vacation! Not sure if that is an up or a down?
Our biggest up and blessing of the year was the birth of my new nephew Isaiah. He is the sweetest!

Our family suffered a great loss recently with the passing of my sister Donna. She had been battling cancer for quite some time. She was strong and courageous through it all. Her death has left me feeling empty inside. She always wanted me to send her pictures of every calf born on the farm and would ask me bunches of questions about each one. I will miss that. I love you Donna!
